Privacy Policy
Last modified: October 29, 2026
This policy explains what Easier Exchange (the website and the iPhone and iPad app) collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. Easier Exchange helps two households agree on and record handoffs of children and pets. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
1. What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, profile photo (Google only) and an account identifier. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email”, we receive Apple's relay address instead of your own. We never see your Google or Apple password.
- Profile details you add. The name to show on agreements, your phone number and a usual handoff address.
- Exchange details. What is being handed off (for example a child's or pet's name and description), dates, places, travel arrangements, notes, messages, proposals and answers, and the other party's name and email address that you enter.
- Signatures and acceptance records. Your drawn or typed signature image, or your click acceptance, with its SHA-256 digest, the time, your IP address and your browser or device's user-agent string.
- Photos. Photos you add to an exchange, taken with your camera or chosen from your library. We only access the camera or photo library when you choose to add a photo.
- Handoff confirmations and flags you record, and the receipts generated from them.
- Help messages you send us.
- Subscription details. When your free trial started, and whether you subscribe, how (App Store or Stripe), its status and renewal date. If you subscribe on the website, Stripe collects your payment details; we receive a customer and subscription identifier, never your card number. If you subscribe in the app, Apple handles payment and sends us a signed record of the purchase with an anonymous identifier that links it to your account. When you delete your account we keep a one-way coded form of your email address and your trial start date, so a new account with the same address continues the same trial; it can't be turned back into your address.
- Usage information. We run our own first-party analytics: a cookie identifying your browser, the pages you view, time on page, scroll depth and taps on key buttons, the link or ad campaign that brought you here, and whether you opened or clicked our emails. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: create your account, send invitations and reminders, produce agreements, receipts and audit logs, and show each party what they need to act on.
- To prove who agreed to what: signature and acceptance records appear on the signed PDFs and audit logs both parties receive.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how people use Easier Exchange and improve it.
- To answer your help messages.
We don't sell your personal information and don't use it for advertising.
3. Who sees it
- The other party to your exchange sees the exchange details, your name and email, your signature and its audit record. Your phone number is shared with them only after you've both signed.
- People you share a link with. Anyone holding an invitation link can view that proposal, and anyone you add as a photo subscriber gets photo emails.
- Service providers that run Easier Exchange for us: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in), Google Maps (address suggestions, when you type an address), Apple (Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchase), Stripe (website payments), and our email delivery provider. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- When required by law, or to protect someone's safety, or our rights.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it. Signed agreements, handoff receipts and audit logs are records belonging to both parties, so we keep them for as long as the exchange exists, even if one party deletes their account, so the other party keeps access to their records.
5. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete your account, in the app or on the website. That removes your profile and sign-in, unsent drafts, unaccepted invitations, and proposals the other person hasn't signed. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Easier Exchange's access to your Apple ID. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled at once; one bought in the app is managed by Apple, so cancel it yourself in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Signed records are kept for the other party as described above.
6. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your profile on the Account page, download every agreement, receipt and audit log as a PDF, and delete your account. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as to request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it. Send us a message to make a request.
7. Children
Easier Exchange accounts are for adults (18 or older). Exchanges may contain information about children, entered by their parents or guardians; we use it only to provide the service to those adults.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with Google Cloud. Sign-in is handled by Google or Apple; we keep only a session cookie on your device.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app or by email.
10. Contact
